How What You Eat Affects Your Acne
by Liam Char
Today Im going to talk about how your nutrition affects your acne.
Many people, when they first decide to work on getting rid of their acne, turn to harsh chemicals and powerful exfoliates in an effort to gain some kind of control over their problem.
But usually it is much wiser to spend some time looking at your nutrition. So thats what were going to do right now.
Firstly, lets get rid of the common misconceptions that certain foods give you acne. For example, chocolate hasnt been proven to either worsen or reduce your acne.
However, if you eat a lot of chocolate, it will be affecting your overall nutrition. So its something to watch out for in you eat a lot of chocolate, and not many healthier foods.
Now the first thing to think about when it comes to reducing your acne through what you eat, is to find a way of reducing the fats, sugars, and oils in your diet. These three things alone can cause problems with your skin. They dont have the vitamins or nutrients that your skin needs, and if you take in too much of these three things youll cause problems with your body in general as well.
Have you ever eaten a lot of junk food, and seen that it makes your acne worse? This is no coincidence. You need to make some efforts towards removing some of the unhealthy food that may be in your diet, okay? It will be worth it.
My next tip for you may seem kind of unusual. But Ive had good results with it, so here it is: Try to get more organic food into your diet.
This may be a little more expensive than your usual food but if you get into the habit of only eating organic, fresh, and wholesome foods... you will become much healthier, and your skin will improve.
You see if you eat organic food youre going to be taking in much fewer preservatives and other various toxins into your body. This can only help your skin!
Another good point I should make while we are talking about organic food, is that by structuring more of your diet on vegetables and fruits (which is likely if youre looking for organic food) then youre going to get much more of the vital nutrients and vitamins that your body (and skin) needs.
Now if you find it too much hassle, or too expensive to buy more organic foods thats fine. Heres another option you may like to try: Take some vitamin and mineral supplements.
Most people nowadays dont get the right amounts of vitamins, and this means your skin is going to suffer. When youre shopping for supplements, try to find one with vitamin E because this vitamin in particular is very good for your skin.
You need to be drinking enough liquids to keep your body FULLY HYDRATED. This can make a MASSIVE difference in the health of your skin, okay?
Now let me expand on this:
The average person needs to be drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. Whats that you say? You dont drink all that much? Well guess what its going to be your skin that suffers.
If you ever find your skin feeling itchy, dry, or flaky then you need to try drinking more water.
Now I know many people already know about how much water they should be drinking but do you realise just how important it is? Probably not.
I hope this has helped you out.
